What we do

We work in three specific areas:Untitled2

  1. Strategic Research
  2. Aviation and technology solutions
  3. Raising awareness

Christ and his call on our lives is the centre of our activities. As we work in the three specific areas mentioned above, we welcome your involvement surrounding us in prayer.

Research

Our purpose, to help bring the Gospel to unreached and inaccessible people groups, is very specific. We believe God has called us at HFA to identify these people and find specific ways to reach them, as opposed to being driven by ministry opportunities or random activities. People groups can be inaccessible due to a range of circumstances, such as geography, politics or language barriers, preventing them from being reached with the good news.

We have developed a strategic research process to ensure we find the people groups who are still inaccessible. In that process we value the input of others. This includes using research that has already been completed by other organisations and seeking feedback from missionaries and local experts in the countries of interest.

Aviation & Technology

A unique characteristic of HFA is that we do not use one standardised solution to help reach people in isolation. Based on the needs identified through research, we look at solutions that are innovative. We take time to listen to different missionaries and organisations for valuable feedback on the specific needs in the region.Web Image 22

We then look at many diverse options, such as;

  • IR-cameras,
  • remote piloted aircraft systems (drones),
  • remote piloted marine systems,
  • hi-tech ballooning,
  • ultra light aircraft,
  • gyrocopters,
  • airplanes and helicopters.

The final aim is to assist local missions and ministries in their work with a suitable aviation and technology solution that matches their specific needs. For example: the chartering of aircraft when they are required (as opposed to owning our own aircraft), or the construction of a purpose built drone.

We endeavour to obtain technology locally as much as possible, as in this day and age in many countries the necessary equipment is available. This leads to savings in costs and time, but most importantly, it allows for flexibility to overcome local barriers with matching solutions.

Nevertheless, we recognise that the cost of aviation and technology is high. However, after Christ gave his life so we may have eternal life, we believe every expense is justified in cases where we cannot find a ‘better’ alternative solution to help reach these people.

Raising Awareness

Hope from Above sees itself as an ambassador on behalf of isolated unreached people groups. We want to raise awareness and make a plea for those who have never had a chance to hear the good news. We focus in particular on those groups we have identified in our research. We believe that Jesus called us all to bear witness to the Gospel, as He commands us in the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18–20. We believe that through raising awareness in the church, we can mobilise God’s people to stand with us in prayer to reach the lost with the Gospel, and to be inspired to share the Gospel in their own situations.

We can arrange speaking engagements for interested groups and offer a display for missions’ exhibitions. If you are interested in having a HFA speaker come and visit you, please contact us.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
