Harnessing Creation

Psalm 8 reminds us that although we are small compared to the universe, we are known and valued by God. It also calls us to care for the world He made and to see His wisdom in every part of it. The “paths of the sea,” understood as simply a poetic phrase from a verse, became a scientific reality because of one man in history. Commodore Matthew Maury believed that God’s Word could be trusted, even about the natural world. Years later, from this inspiration – God’s Word, His creation, and technology, concepts have welded together for the work of God’s commission.
